This video will show you the basic steps to change your administrator password for your WordPress install.

To complete this HowTo you will need to know how to use your CPanel Application on your web host to access PHPmyAdmin and edit your database fields.

WARNING it is important to make a backup of your database before you try editing your database.

There are a variety of ways to backup your mySql Database from Cpanel or other applications that your host may have. If you edit the field incorrectly you may endup with a worse problem then you began with.

Whenever possible you should first try the Resend password option at the bottom of the login box to reset your password.

The password in your database is stored in MD5 format which is an encryption method.

Although this HowTo explains how to use an outside application to generate the MD5 Password it is posible to use mySQL and PhpMyAdmin to generate the password for you.

Once you have gained access to your WordPress install you should change your password again to one that you can remember. And write it down this time.

Again do not try this until you have backedup your database.
